Tweens will love this hidden camera prank show. Everybody loves a good prank and yet rarely have the guts or the resources to pull off a really good one. PrankStars gives parents and friends a chance to prank their loved one with their favorite Disney Channel Star. The show is very similar to MTV’s Punk’d but instead of pulling pranks on celebrities, the celebrities pull the pranks on the fan. Prank shows can have a tendency to become mean spirited in their jokes, but PrankStars attempts not to humiliate the person but to confuse them with an elaborate prank and in the end meet the celebrity they admire. For example, in a recent show a mom and sister nominate a tween named Mary to be pranked with her favorite star, Selena Gomez. The show sets up a complicated scene with many actors involved where Selena Gomez goes to an audition dressed in disguise. She becomes Mary’s partner in the audition where they have to do ridiculous and over the top dances. In the end Mary realizes it was Selena Gomez all along. PrankStars allows viewers to entertain our silliness and creativeness when it comes to creating an elaborate prank, while also remaining innocent and playful. —Katie Aust
